Pres. Trump on jumbo jet gift: Would be 'stupid' to turn away free plane
In what may be the most valuable gift ever extended to the United States from a foreign government, the Trump administration is preparing to accept a super luxury Boeing jumbo jet from the royal family of Qatar. When pressed by ABC News’ Rachel Scott, Pres. Trump called it a "very nice gesture." "I think it's a great gesture from Qatar. Appreciate it very much. I would never be one to turn down that kind of an offer," Trump said. "I mean, I could be a stupid person and say, 'No, we don't want a free, very expensive airplane.' But ... I thought it was a great gesture." Trump had previously toured the plane, which is so opulently configured that it is known as "a flying palace."
